Characteristic
White odorlessness powder or crystalline granules. It has strong acidity, about 1.5 times of citric acid. soluble inethanol(30℃,5.76g/100g),slightly soluble in water(25℃, 0.63g/100ml,)and in ether, and very difficult to soluble in chloroform. No hgroscopicity. above 200℃ sublimates, the boiling point 290℃ (decomposition), heats up to 230℃ above products cis-butenedioic anhydride, altogether boils with the water produces the DL- malic acid
Application
The fumaric acid with maks the acidity conditioner, the flavoring agent,, the oxidation resistance assistant. Widely uses in preparing the carbonic acid drink, the wines, the concentration solid drinks, the ice cream as well as each kind of cold food and the drink.. it may substitute the malic acid, the citric acid, its acidity for citric 1.5 times. The Trans-butenedioic acid is the medicine and optics blenching agent and so on fine chemical intermediate. May also use in producing not the saturated polyester resin and so on.
